Meandering Moms, Florida, USA
Who are they?
The Meandering Mom’s are a couple of remarkable women who started hiking the Appalachian trail 22 years ago. As many hikers who tackle the Appalachian trail do, they started in Georgia. Every year they pick up where they left off, covering as many miles as possible in the time they’ve whittled out from their busy lives.
Most valuable gear?
Columbia Shorts — the same ones they’ve had for 20 years! It’s amazing what a good pair of pockets will do when it comes to making gear valuable.
James River section was @160 miles. They’ve discovered no matter how much you plan and organize the unexpected happens and sometimes the best intentions fall to the wayside.
