“I’m biking from Montreal to Boston, which is 450 miles. I really wanted a challenge, where something can go wrong. I’m doing it to get the feeling at the end, when I look at the map — where I started and where I finished — and realize that to some people this would take days to do in a car, yet I won’t step foot in a motorized vehicle the whole way through. I’ll just have the air on my face all the way through. So that’s why I want to do it.

“I didn’t really train for this. I do ride my bike on the weekends quite a lot, but I wouldn’t really consider that training because what I’m doing is so much more than that. I don’t really put too much emphasis on being physically ready for something. Personally, I think that what I’m doing is more of a mental challenge than a physical challenge. I think that you just need to do it in the moment and not put too much thought into if you actually can or not.”
