“Getting married and having kids used to be expected. My friends and I in the 90’s were all getting married around the same time. My kids now don’t have a plan or certain age they want to get married. They don’t want kids and I’m not expecting them to. Who am I to assume I’m going to be a grandmother? I just want them to live their life the way they want. There’s so many rules in life, but who made all these rules? It doesn’t have to be any  specific way — we should all be able to live for what works for us, and I think that, that is exactly what this generation is doing. I’m just in awe of the young people today. I think the world will change directions. There’s a lot of negativity going on right now but the younger generation is so driven and educated that I believe they will make positive changes and bring us all to a better place.”
